We are showing it to Fox Sports and some NFL people (sports related) and I wanted it to mimic film more than video,
Wonder why you would do this? Fox Sports don’t show film they show video, plus a slower frame rate isn’t the best option for sports action.

You can pay a lot of money for a really good microphone but if you don’t place it carefully it will not give good sound.
Suggest you look at the Rode University website where they have lots of good tips on how to use their mics (or any other brand).

This sounds like a problem with the placement of the mike in an acoustically challenging location.
Is the mike mounted on the camera? Or is flown over the top on a boom pole?

Apple yesterday reduced the price of their apps to Australian customers.
FCP X came down from Aus$349 to Aus$319, maybe they are listening.

Purchase the best quality cards you can. If a card fails with irreplaceable footage on it, or fails to record when you roll on an unrepeatable event the value of the loss may well be worth more than your entire camera kit.
Good cards will last a long time if treated carefully so saving a dollars on a “bargain card” may turn out be very expensive.
I have four Sandisk Extreme cards in my kit 2 x 32Gb and 2 x 16Gb.
I’m currently on a shoot interviewing people. The interviews run about 45mins to 1 hour plus some overlay footage. Each subject fits well on a 32Gb card which makes archiving and workflow in post easy. 16Gb is good for most average shoots though.

You can fit a HDSLR to almost any steadicam.
You need a remote focus device to control focus as you can’t touch the camera itself during operation. If you do you will disturb the delicate balance of the steadicam. If you don’t have a remote focus you need to set a deep depth of field (f11 / f16) and work within the depth of field range of the lens / camera settings.
However if you haven’t used a steadicam before you need to to know that you don’t just bolt a camera onto it and then operate.
First you need to know how to trim balance and adjust the steadicam for your camera.
Secondly you need the coordination skills to operate the rig. This is akin to learning to ride a bike, ski, a surfboard etc. At first you’re probably not going to perform very well. Ideally you need someone to show you the basics, then you need to practice and then more practice. Most highly skilled steadicam specialists started out with an intensive workshop.

That’s “moire” pattern very common on HDSLRs. Be aware that it happens on fine detail.
Try Moire Buster filter
https://colorbyjorg.wordpress.com/2011/02/17/now-available-my-dslr-anti-moire-filter-for-fcp-free-download/But be careful as too strong settings can introduce problems in the overall colour of the image.

That’ probably Crumple Pop.
H264 is not suitable for editing in FCP.
The JVC HM 700 natively records an HDV 6 frame GOP 720p.mov or an MP4 codec, not H264 or ProRes.If you want to use filters you are better off converting any GOP based codec to ProRes, the rendering will be faster and quality preserved.
