Crumble pop h.264 or pro res
I just got crumble pop magic pop bundle and I’m not sure whether to use pro res or h.264. In my editing documentary and news stories I’ve never converted any files to pro res, honestly this pro res vs h.264 thing is baffling. I use a jvc hm 700 and love the footage. Any help would be great. Thx creative cows lol

That’ probably Crumple Pop.
H264 is not suitable for editing in FCP.
The JVC HM 700 natively records an HDV 6 frame GOP 720p.mov or an MP4 codec, not H264 or ProRes.If you want to use filters you are better off converting any GOP based codec to ProRes, the rendering will be faster and quality preserved.

I just looked up that camera and it said that it records .mov that is ready to import to FCS.
Is this not the case? Did you record to the XDCam format? I don’t think you’ll need crumble pop.
