Depends if you’re gonna need to zoom in and around, and also on the size of the original pic.

150 dpi can be fine for simple full frame use, but 300 or higher will help keep resolution if you zoom in.

I just tried this, and it worked fine – you did apply Border FX to the PIP Event rather than the background?

Sometimes toggling between Pre and Post with the triangle to the left the FX timeline can make a difference.

June 5, 2006 at 2:43 am in reply to: do i have to rerender for each mistake i made

Whether you render to MPEG2 or avi, the important thing is that the “mistakes”, whether they be spelling or general editing, were there BEFORE you rendered – obviously we all let the occasional one slip through, but Preview is really the way all these things should be checked, before rendering, especially if you have a 9 hour render.

June 5, 2006 at 2:35 am in reply to: What is this Cinescore plugin?

What I think is being asked is a link to where you heard or read about the plug-in of which you speak.

No-one else seems to know about it – as Gary said, Cinescore is a new Sony program for creating soundtracks.

I do not have it at all – if you have it listed as a program, you presumably got it from somewhere – where?

Mary, I’m not sure what differences we have in set up, but here, after highlighting the actual text event on preview screen, the “O” next to the Bold and Italic icons beneath the screen turns on a fill for the whole text frame, and I can select what colour set and how transparent I want this.

Mary, It’s called “Outline” for some reason in DVDA.

You choose a different Colour Set, and you can make it as opaque or transparanet as you prefer.

May 12, 2006 at 1:05 am in reply to: Vegas 6b: Panning Tool Zoom Out Problem

It introduces a slight curve at the beginning and end of a pathway – a sort of gradual “take off and landing” – which more often than not is not required, and that is why they’ve been asked to default the setting to zero. Glad the change worked for you.

Try setting Smoothing in the left panel to Zero – it defaults to 100 and many have requested that it default to zero. Also check that the keyframes are linear.
