DVDA subtitles
I am having trouble figuring out how to make a subtitle have a dark background. I know how to adjust the color set for the subtitle box, but nothing I do gives a “fill” color for inside the subtitle box. The box itself is always transparent. This is bad when the subtitle is appearing over a light or busy part of the video. Can anyone help?

Mary, It’s called “Outline” for some reason in DVDA.
You choose a different Colour Set, and you can make it as opaque or transparanet as you prefer.

Thanks Peter, but Outline/background only seems to put a stroke around the text. How exactly do you get it to affect the background of the subtitle text object? I’ve been looking through the help files and can’t seem to find this.

Mary, I’m not sure what differences we have in set up, but here, after highlighting the actual text event on preview screen, the “O” next to the Bold and Italic icons beneath the screen turns on a fill for the whole text frame, and I can select what colour set and how transparent I want this.

Mary & Peter, I just tried it and discovered that NOT selecting the “O” key AND adjusting the outline/background color in Color Set 4 got it to work as requested. BTW, this is with DVDA 3.0c.

Thanks so much guys, this is the missing piece I was looking for. I just never saw the “O.”
