Thanks Jerry, I’ll do that. The Tiger OS was the original OS with the MAC so shouldn’t be any problem there. I’ll carry out your instructions and hopefully that will sort things out. Thanks for your help (and Wayne’s advice too)
    Pete

All the media was captured in v5 (the version I started with in 06).

No, I didn’t do a clean install – pretty inexperienced at this, and didn’t realise you had to do that. I simply loaded the new software as described on the documentation. Didn’t uninstall the original FCP v5 or any of my preferences.

Wayne suggested that I should have ‘trashed the prefs, zap your PRAM, and repair your permissions’. Good advice I don’t doubt, but not entirely sure how to do all that yet!

    The system is:
    Power Mac G5 Dual 2.7GHz
    Mac OS X (v10.4.8)
Blackmagic Design DeckLink HD Pro Single Link
    2.5g DDR SDRAM
    QT v7.0.2

Export the audio file to Soundtrack and work on it there – there’s every type of filter you could desire including Normalize. You need to play around to get the hang of it (even resort to reading the book!) but once you crack the basics it’s invaluable for fixing problems like EQ and level.

Thanks for that Paul. Have just packaged up the original discs, paid me money, and look forward to the Crossgrade discs arriving.
