Have you ever heard of anybody wanting a matte finish iphone? No
I have a new MacBookPro 15″ and using FCP on it is not a problem.
If you are doing serious colour correction then you need an external monitor, if you are spending hours and hours on it editing then you should have a MacPro.Peter

If it is any help, I get crackling out of Kona 3 cards all the time. Different companies, different setups.
Flicking the output in the Kona control panel seems to fix it.Also happen a LOT when cold

The codec won’t really have any effect on this apart from some blocking maybe if you were in DV, which you are not. I work in SD 16:9 PAL all the time and see this all the time when there is a lot of movement.
Have you got your canvas set to 100% if so make it 99% and see if the effect goes away.
Having said all that, it won’t hurt to check your settings again and/or apply the easy setup

With a lot of movement that is exactly what I would expect to see.
Note how the vertical line in the wall doesn’t have the lines.Peter

You could always add a spotlight in Motion to make things a bit more interesting.

Can you post a screengrab?
If you have a lot of movement then you should see the field lines on a LCD monitor.

Not directly in FCP, but there are other ways to control third party effects.

select the filter and then hit I for the in and O for the out
