Lighting in Post
Posted by Wes Browning on January 21, 2009 at 12:50 amI have some footage that has very flat lighting, and I’d like to add some subtle shadows, background light, and possibly even a small hair light…in post.
Is this possible with Motion? [Apple]Color?

January 21, 2009 at 3:48 amUm sorta. There’s a fair amount you can do in Color with some practice but a flat shot is a flat shot.

I agree. A flat shot is a flat shot. If you really want to fix it you will need to look into using bezier type masks to darken and lighten certain parts of the shot. It will take a lot of work especially if your shot is moving a lot. Best of luck.

January 25, 2009 at 1:06 amLuckily this is just a talking head clip, and so there’s not a ton of movement. I’ll update my results on here once I get to that point in post. Thanks for all the tips!
