I think I didn’t get it. On the filter itself I could not add the Motion tracking “change” behaviour. When droping it onto that filter it is inserted below in the same group but not under the filter. There are several other filters assigned to that clip. But only that single filter should change its center possition accordingly to the Motion Analysis data.
Where do I have to move and drop which item?

I have the same problem, but using 10.3.4. Where can I find this information there?

Yes, in most cases I could add. But in this case it seems to be damaged internally. So when I try to add a point it is placed somewhere else and far away from the mouse position. Even rebooting didn’t solve that problem. Maybe to much points in one spline??

    Hi John,
    thanks for the hint.

I didn’t use any 3D functionality till now. I know some basics and it’s working fine, so I simply try to adapt my knowledge to the next step in changing the position and size like I did it before with all other items and even groups. I will examine the 3D camera functionality.

  • Yes, that was the solution. It seems that I could not change start and end, only moving it. But when removing and adding that “Motion Path” again, it automatically matches the start and end of the corresponding item. Thank you very much.

  • Thank you for the hint. I think I’m going to order that.

  • Sorry, I’m realy a beginner in Motion.

“shorten the duration of the Motion Path behavior”: When using the english documentation of apple there is also a hint to do that, but no description how, no screenshot at all.

The behaviour is the motion path, right?. I selected it. But there I couldn’t find any “duration” control:

I used “geometric” to follow the path.
How could I shorten the duration of the Motion Path behavior?

  • I have to translate, so I hope my translation match the real one. 🙂

I select the bezier item, then in properties the last box is “timing”. There is an “in point”, “out point” and “duration”. If I reduce duration there or use the mouse and drag the end of the bezier bar to the left, nothing changes, except that the path will disapper sooner. It seems that from start to end it needs exactly the complete duration of the entire project.

I tried the last hours to get all the things together. Unfortunatly I didn’t get it. I could/want not post a picture of my girl friend, but there is no special thing about the video. She is smiling right in the camera, so the color of the teeth should be different enough from mouth and skin.
I set motion tracking (hope this is the correct translation from my german version of motion) to the point right below the nose. The tracking was exact.

Now I need a rough mask. I used a octagon from the form menu (made it slim to fit the mouth). I clicked on “Add pic mask” and I got one. This mask I connected to the video. Another filter “change color/saturation” I added below “pic mask”. I wanted it above mask but it was not accepted. On the other hand it works even if it is below the mask. Now I can reduce chroma for the inner mask of the octagon. But I need to set an additional inner mask for the color of the teeth (e.g. very light yellow) to reduce all changes to the teeth not affecting the lips. I think I need to insert a keyer? Luma keyer? But I don’t know what to set up/change in the parameters. Somewhere I need to set the source color by clicking with a pipette? But where is the parameter and what is the right tool? Sorry, the handbook is a mess, because it handles all features in order of the menu. But nobody learns a language by reading a entire dictionary from a to z. 🙁 So I try to get informtion from every source possible.
