any effect becomes tacky as soon as it becomes simple to create. Remember how quickly the shine plugin sent the shine effect from cool to hack?
effects are best left for ads/music vids/network TV bumpers which have a life of a few weeks.

yes I’m sure that would do it but no budget for that. I think I can just slow it down to 50% and then export the clip and reimport it and take the speed up to 200%

What makes certification more work than it’s worth (unless you need the piece of paper) is that rather than developing an efficient workflow – there is an emphasis on knowing precise details of the myriad different ways of performing each task, even if they don’t really make much sense.

How would you shoot a city scene? Build special cars? Mask out all the store signs?

hook the camera up to a laptop, fire up your NLE and use the waveform monitor. Not a substitute for a calibrated monitor but a lot more useful than a light meter.

that’s the way the camera ships – you need to tweak the settings and use custom presets
