Hi, do your comps in AE in 32 bit. Use the cineon converter, not a LUT. Do all your work in linear then convert it all back to log as the final step. To get a closer visual idea of what it is going to look like once filmed out, use the color profile converter effect (I think it’s called that). I can’t remember the exact settings off hand but there are profiles for viewing film.

You can just move the little plus sign at the middle of the tracker by hand. This is the attach point that all calculations are based on.

Hi if they were rendered from AE in 8 bit, you have definitely lost fidelity, but all you need to do is set the project to 16 bit and
re-render.

Reshape is pretty frustrating. It just doesn’t react as you would expect often. I had to give up on it. I think I ended up using reflex. You could do it in Shake also. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

CharlieX, do you want to attach a tracker to a whole mask or to a mask vertex only?

HI, make an expression between the tracker attach point and the position property of the layer that the mask is on. Always mask on a solid layer not a footage layer.

try applying 20 drastic curves adjustments to an image, then view it in 8 bit and then in float. You should see a pretty big difference.
