    Hi,

In BCC Glint, you need to set the alpha channel within the filter – in AE, precomp the Invigorator effect, then add the BCC Glint to the precomp and set the Glint background layer function to the precomp.

    Cheers,

    Peter.

    Hi,

It “should” work, but the earliest version of Vegas that is officially supported with Graffiti 5 is indeed Vegas 5.

    Cheers,

April 25, 2007 at 7:18 pm in reply to: I need to create a blur mask

    Hi,

You can try using the z-blur filter to emulate a rack focus effect, where the foreground is clear but the background is blurred (or vice versa) or you can also achieve this by using the built-in pixelchooser matte/masking system within the filter. Or you can roto the foreground object and feather the roto then blur the background.

    Cheers,

    Peter.

April 25, 2007 at 7:16 pm in reply to: Final Cut Studio 2 and Boris?

    Hi,

You will need BCC 5 FxPlug for FCP 6, which should be available with the next few weeks. On the RED side you will need to have RED 4.1.4, which will be a free upgrade / patch for any RED 4 user. We’ll make both of these products available post the FCP 6 release just to be sure that the version that goes into the hands of the user community is working as well as the version that we test with in our labs.

    Cheers,

    Peter.

April 25, 2007 at 7:08 pm in reply to: LiveType like presets

    Hi Chris,

We’ll you’re a bit behind on the versions of the Boris plug-ins – Graffiti is now at version 5 and FX is at version 9. Seeing as FX does not include any text / titling capabilities you will have to use Graffiti for text effects. And I would suggest moving up to the latest version, Graffiti 5, which ships with a lot of Livetype style title animations – type on, write on etc.

    Cheers,

    Peter.

April 25, 2007 at 7:07 pm in reply to: Lighting Streaks (Nano iPod commercial) How to

    Hi,

Well it’s not that hard to do using RED … and actually I worked on replicating this effect with one of our resellers in Germany and looks pretty close to the iPod effect. The basics of it have to do with paint strokes and the glow filter – fairly easy to do actually. I’ll see if I can find the RED project for you.

    Cheers,

    Peter.

April 25, 2007 at 7:00 pm in reply to: 4.13 export folder invalid

    Hi,

That’s odd – I just tried that on my system and it worked fine. You might want to contact our tech support (support@borisfx.com) to see if they can help you to resolve the problem with your system. Can you write to the external disc using other software? Or with the finder?

    Cheers,

    Peter.

March 29, 2007 at 5:46 pm in reply to: Avid MC 2.7 and boris FX and Continuum

    Hi Rupert,

I guess we need more information before providing you with a definitive answer to your question.

If you upgraded from an earlier version of MC to v2.7 and have Avid assurance then you will need to get in touch with the Avid support department as the BCC filters for your upgraded system will come directly from them. If you purchased BCC from Boris directly or from a reseller for a previous version of Avid and do not have Avid assurance then the upgrade to BCC for your system will come from us or via the reseller.

Currently, we do not have a version of BCC for Avid MC that runs natively on MacIntel but we are close to having that ready. Very close.

    I hope this helps.

    Cheers,

    Peter.

March 21, 2007 at 1:47 pm in reply to: z space composite and no open gl

    Hi Kay,

Just wondering if our support team were able to resolve the issue for you. From discussing your situation with them it appears as though the 3.0.4 updater was looking only at the C drive for the program and was not updating it to the 3.0.4 version because the installer couldn’t find the app to patch. Now that this issue has been sorted out, I hope you will be able to make your way through the tutorials.

    Cheers,

    Peter.

  • Hi Lauren,

You should contact our support department for some assistance. It may be that the preferences file on your system has become corrupt and that simply deleting this will restore your system to it’s previous state or it may be something else but they will certainly know how to take care of it. Please send them an email at support@borisfx.com.

    Cheers,

    Peter.
