That might not even work, although is highly risky.
The mic needs power which itll get from the camera. I doubt the voltage will survive a 10m cable and still be correct to drive the mic.

You MAY just have to accapt that the purchase was not right. The mic is designed for use ON the camera, where its power source is close.
Running unbalanced over a longer run will leave you open to Rf interference, which will vary depending on wherever you try to record. This is why pros use balanced xlr.

My suggestion would be to use a proper balanced XLR mic (with local power (ie an internal battery) and use a high quality starquad style screened cable. Then put that through a beachtek or similar device to convert down to your 3.5mm jack input, and that cable will only be very short hence minimising RF interference risk.

I don’t know about your question for sure,but
1 ) in general signals integrity is usually better when as an sdi signal because its embedded in 1 data stream rather than separately flowing signals , so probably it will remain intact

2). You need to look for an embedder
Manufactures like Kramer, snell and Wilcox and black magic is where I’d start, prob BM 1st.
This will embed multi streams into sdi etc etc which can carry it

Speaking only for myself, I certainally wasny trying to gang up on you (or even be the ringleader as I was the 1st post)
I was merely keen that you consider issues on the audio side fully, and make up your mind from there.
Ofcourse I dont know your experience level, as you dont know mine (although you might gleam something about me by looking at my picture in the top panel) but its a lot to do even for an uber experienced op.

At least youve considered a lot of issues and thats all good.

Dont take this the wrong way, but in your 1st post you say youre not an audio guy?
It would seem to me that a job that is over many days, and out of your country must be “reasonably important”
If it is important (either to you or your client) then do consider wether you really have enough
time
brainpower
manpower
ability
confidence
spare attention to fix all the stuff that will go wrong

AND shoot the pictures, light it, media manage it, and get it ALL right 1st time.

You might be able to do it all, but the fact youre asking the question at all suggests to me that this is outside your comfort zone.
If so, do consider hiring a professional.

I doubt your client will be terribly understanding if you have problems, the audio is bad in places, then you say you were overstretched. If youre worried, recognise that now and hire in the necessary staffing. Youll get more respect for taking the right line even if it does cost a bit???

It doesnt seem like the sort of thing that can be recreated easily?

All seems a lot beetter now after your advice. I dont think that key part of the software is well explained tho.

I dont use Premiere. I use Avid media composer 6.
Mt workflow is – export a quicktime reference file from avid, import to sor sq, create the bd compliant file, imprt that into encore and let the hurt begin.

I have just been switching between dblu ray and dvd within the build window. There isnt really anything to say this was wrong.

Im remaking the sor sq m2v files to try ou your method. Fingers crossed! I ll let you know.

is your media / seq upper filed 1st or lower.
there is a filter in FCP called de interlace. Try this
You can eliminate the frustration and time wasting of exporting and making costly discs by having a tv monitor (not a computer screen) attached to your edit so you will see field issues before you make a dvd or blu ray.
