    Hi Jon,

I edited with your settings and all was okay until, I played back. The footage stutters along and isn’t smooth. Now, I inspected the timeline and found what may be the culprit. There’s a 30 second clip in there shot on a different camera- with different settings. Could this be causing the trouble? Is there a way to edit using multiple file formats,

Thank you again for your help

Thanks Jon, i took a look at your YT channel looks great particularly this video: https://youtu.be/g6jiVpRsn4E

What were your export settings to get such beautiful results?

Also, when I edit dslr videos I simply import the raw video file from my canon dslr into premiere pro- is this acceptable behaviour for PP 5.5?

Thank you again for your help

    Bizarre..

I may have not been specific enough. I’m running FCE 4.0 and CS5 on a Mac OS X 10.5.8. I did try to go through the auto save fault but, all the files gave the following error message: “unreadable or too new for this version of Final Cut” . I have since re-started my project and have gotten it back to the place before the issue occurred. How I got to this conclusion was that, after clearing cache etc etc I open up a project, imported a CS5 file then closed the project. Once I tried to reopen I got that error message.

If noone else is experiencing it, it must be my machine then. Anyway, thought I’d post incase anyone else had this issue..

    thanks for the replies
