Photoshop 5 crashed FC! Warning
Posted by Peter Djorino on June 8, 2010 at 12:02 amHey guys
this may be common knowledge but I thought i would post it so as to save anyone else from having the same problem. I purchased Photoshop 5 and used it on a work project with Final Cut. Everything worked ok until I closed and tried to reopen. An error message appeared saying the project was a newer version that FC couldn’t recognize! I post my whole project.. Until there’s an update supporting P5, I’ll be saving graphics as png files.Anyway hope that helps someone.

June 8, 2010 at 12:39 amPhotoshop 5 or CS5? I have CS5 (Production Premium) and it’s not interfering with any FCP projects. Been running CS5 for three weeks now I guess, haven’t seen any issues except I can’t launch AE without using the Terminal. But as far as interfering with FCP. Nada.
Running FCP 7.0.2 with OS 10.6.3.

June 8, 2010 at 1:18 amJust open the last version in your Autosave Vault before the crash…
By the way…this tool may be able to repair your project…

June 8, 2010 at 2:39 amBizarre..
I may have not been specific enough. I’m running FCE 4.0 and CS5 on a Mac OS X 10.5.8. I did try to go through the auto save fault but, all the files gave the following error message: “unreadable or too new for this version of Final Cut” . I have since re-started my project and have gotten it back to the place before the issue occurred. How I got to this conclusion was that, after clearing cache etc etc I open up a project, imported a CS5 file then closed the project. Once I tried to reopen I got that error message.
If noone else is experiencing it, it must be my machine then. Anyway, thought I’d post incase anyone else had this issue..
thanks for the replies

August 25, 2010 at 1:56 pmHi,
Did you install CS5 Production Premium in 64 bit mode or just boot your FCP machine as normal and install CS5? Any special tricks you learned about installing CS5 smoothly?
Curious as I am just about to install CS5 on FCP macpro.
Thanks.
