Phew. In case anybody read my post and wondered. There is a simple solution. Just point to the first file Premier asks for and lo and behold it locates the rest.
I did not have do that when I tested it before. It just opened. Must be due to the re formating of drives and new Windows installation or some such.
Anyway thanks in case you droped by to help.

Thanks for the help full info though. I will be making use of the media encoder render a projects sequences as a batch in the future.

The last paragraph is very useful. I did not know that I could open a premier project in media encoder and then select sequences.
I cant seem to get the ‘create new trimmed clips on your drive to happen’ If I convert from sub clip to master clip and use ‘locate in bridge’ then I seem to only have the original untrimmed clip in the source folder.
Now that I know how to open sequences from a project in media encoder it will make things simpler in the future.

I did this. I used VLC player to create an audio file from my .mp4 clip
I imported this .wav into premier. No hiss, a nice fat wav with no disturbance. I imported the .mp4 into premier and the audio has a hiss.
I replaced the .mp4 audio with my wav and I now have faultless sound.
It is a workaround however we are making a documentary and will be generating a shed load of footage. To have to do that with each clip seems rather silly.
I really would appreciated any insight into this issue as it is bugging me greatly.

Thanks for that. I had forgotten those as well. As for the help there are not a lot in there.
I do remember highlight footage in the project window and then sending the clip onto the timeline from there to the time marker.
It not that I am lazy just it annoys me that I have forgot. I think they were on one of the total training videos..
