Project and data linking nightmare
Hi
I use a PC, I have been working on a project for some while now, it has some 3500 files located on a drive. The scratch and all such were set up on different drives to the data and op sys etc. Working fine and dandy. My hard drive with the data went west. It was drive no J:
I kept two back ups in case of such an eventuality. These were identical folder structure and file naming to the broken drives structure and naming. Mirror copies.I installed the back up drive and re named it to J. I have done this before in an expirment and it worked just fine. Premiere never knew the difference. All opened ok.
However today (when I really need it), premier is asking for the location of all of the files. Of course I have to select skip and then skip all due to the large number of them. the project opens but all media is offline. The sequences and files have all the correct names and are in the correct order in the respective bins but I cannot link the project to the drive material.
Is there a way to rectify this? Has anyone encountered the same issue and if so is there a work around/solution?
Please say “yes there is an easy remedy” somebody please 🙂Thanks in advance for any assistance.
Cheers
