Hello Eric,
Can you offer anything to the conversation regarding PCIe lanes?
You say that some of us are off the mark… could you offer any insight to what we have said here? If someone knows that others are missing the mark, it would be nice if they help set them straight. That is why we are all here after all.

Harsh. Sure the speed and performance was a different league, but the color tools were/are quite powerful. I did quite a few projects on it and I will say the results were quite impressive.
It sure had some roundtrip workflow issues… but Resolve still has it’s share of workflow problems as well.

Hi Jonathon,
Glad to hear you are having success with your system. Can you tell me if you have used RED footage at different resolutions in your system?
My system is not working well with 5K RED Epic footage. But from what I have found, I might need 2 RED Rockets to get that footage to play realtime.
Just curious what types of media you have been using on your system.

Please let them know you want this feature. Many of us have requested the feature, and hopefully with more people sending them emails, they will consider adding it and making our lives easier.

yeah… gotta get that additional icloud functionality on my resolve system! Snow Leopard is actually working great for me.. call me old fashioned I guess.

Have you tried Quicktime Pro at all? It’s super quick to add audio tracks.
I much prefer that they make sure the software is stable and rock solid before releasing it. I’m sure they will release it as soon as it’s ready for prime time.

I had tried that once, but for my show I had clips that were coming in with timecode that was off by a few frames. So I had to manually slip the clips after I brought in the XML/AAF.
So to have to do that conform work for each and every XML/AAF I bring in just adds more work and gives me less time for color grading.

Meanwhile I am color grading everyday with Resolve 8.2.2. What is the feature that you know is in there that you must have (only thing I have heard about is audio exporting)?

Sorry Andrew,
We have asked to be able to make duplicate versions of sessions for this exact reason. I have been told I can do a Save As and save an alternate version of a project and switch over to that.
Obviously not what we are really looking for.

Glad I could offer some info. I know how it is when the system is not working and you don’t know why.
I’m sorry.. but I have to blame Blackmagic on this one. The AAF contains all the necessary information, but there must be some flag that says the clips are linked to media clips (or aren’t and are unlinked).
Just need Resolve to ignore the fact that the clips are unlinked and just use the TC and reel name like it usually does. I wish they would respond to me about this problem (which I would call a bug). I’ve even sent them sample sequences and media but haven’t heard anything yet unfortunately….
(I also have a separate problem where Resolve will not read tape/reel names on Avid MXF media if the clips came from tapeless sources. Avid doesn’t give those clips ‘tape names’ but it has the metadata ‘Source File Name’. Resolve needs to be able to read that metadata field if the Tape Name field is empty.)
