Audio in AE is simply AWFUL.
It occasionally plays back (during render previews) at the wrong speed.
It takes an awkwardly weird time to play (render previews) even without any video over it.
And sometimes (intense time stretch) it crashes renders (perhaps unless the buffer is increased).The truth is we need AE to let us edit to precise audio events, in the business of making music videos complete and utter accuracy and speed of previews is very important.
And I just don’t see that in AE.
I have 0 solutions here.
Just more griping.

I am working on a very rough, simple project, where I needed to record a TV on my SLR camera.
The flicker was rough.
But duplicating my layer, and offsetting the top by 1 frame, then making it 50% opacity – FIXED THE ISSUE COMPLETELY for me.This is a miracle 🙂

While I like the command k shortcut for cutting where the playback head is, the actual razor tool is not very intuitive. It tends to snap to the playback head with or without snapping turned on, if I am very close to it (zoomed in way close), and doesn’t snap well at all if I am zoomed out.
I will use command K short cut feature, as it’s great for what I need to do, but this thing is a bit weird to me, as I am trying to transition from FCP7 and learn this new software package. -
And you know what… I just disabled ALL of my mouse functionalities in system prefs and it still zooms in that way. Maybe I have to restart AE but that would seem rather weird as it’s a system wide change.
I am at a loss…
Gotta jump forums to an Apple one…

Yeah I have the exact same problem.
I really don’t want to shut off my mouse functionality for anything other than AE.
So doing so through system prefs. seems very debilitating. I want preferences in AE or for Apple to fix their goddamn mouse that keeps zooming into infinity every time my finger twitches…BAH

That was very helpful. Feels silly to not realize that. But I did the same mstake -
For this demo, I used Photojpeg compression, 80% setting, uploaded to Vimeo Plus, not sure what they use on their end, maybe H264?
But yes – the weird thing is – it judders for me when viewed on my laptop, but not when I view it on an external monitor on my Mac Pro. My laptop is really fast – so I don’t really see how it’s a playback speed issue… Would love to put my finger on a fix here….

Oh god this is annoying.Watching this with a friend on two displays – we are both seeing the same thing – judder on one display but not the other. Same video streaming from the web. I actually think the display is the same refresh rate, but not sure…
