Thanx for replying John. The new computer will have Windows 7 on it and I backed up as much as I could from my existing C drive, copying it to my ext HD, which also houses all my .veg files. As far as I know I’ll still have to re-install all my software programs, either redownloaded or off the install CD’s, at which time I’ll update to 9.0e 64 bit.
I’ve only changed computers once before when I had just a few programs to replace. This time will be a lot more daunting as I’ve got about 25-30 to re-install.
You mentioned leaving XP on a partition. Since I won’t have XP on the new CPU are you saying that there’s a way to save the whole operating system (XP) and install on the new computer???
Also, last question, since all my Pro 9.0c captures, saves, info and .veg files will still be accessible from my ext. HD can I bring them into the 9.0e 64 bit version?…thanks again, Pete.

Probably a bit off post but my Sony cam remote has a slo-mo playback in the VTR mode that I can use to re-capture bits that I can then work on. The capture will be at 1/2 speed to begin with. As long as the action is not directly across the field of view, i.e. left to right, it’s fairly smooth, Pete.

Roy, instead of going to “file” and the drop-down list to open a project go to the “import media” icon next to the lightning flash to open the project. This will add as many clips as you want in your project media box from which you can drag-drop to the TL, Pete.

  • You might try this…click on “file”, “properties” then change video template to wide screen…the whole project then becomes wide, Pete.
