Yes, Thanks Jon and Mike. I know there will be no more CS3 updates. Well, all the functionality you mentioned does not interest me too much. I am just a casual editor, rendering in the background means little to me. I usually edit things, let it render if needed, go to bed. However, majority of the time, I simply render out to DVD or H.264. I could not render until I am done with the project, right? As far as better integration with other apps, well, I don’t have other apps, I have Premiere Pro CS3 standalone (of course with Encore and Onlocation). I know there is supposed to be onlocation upgrade, but I am not sure what they are referring to, and if my laptop can handle it or not.
What I was looking for, which I don’t see in CS4, and probably never going to see in Premiere and have to cough up the $ for AE:
1. better chroma key & little more other effects
Others:
1) output HDV to tape (without lost of quality and having to reencode. It lost too much currently).
Thanks,

Isn’t that funny how things happen:

The other thing, that you may want to look into, is the scratch disks… temporary folders… keep them seperate for audio and video might help and definitely not on the same program drive.

September 8, 2008 at 5:27 pm in reply to: “screen capture” videos are damaged in premiereCamStudio comes to mind. There are others as well. However, like Ham said, what codec did it use? Can the “screen capture” program you have capture onto another format? such as mpeg? when you say it is bend, poor quality… what do you mean? If aspect ratio is wrong, it will appear bend. Poor quality perhaps related to capturing in a small size video, i.e. 320×240 and your ppro project is at 800×600, it will be very pixelated.
Best wish,

Also, what are the filters that was applied at .81%? What are you rendering to? HD?

Well, all I am saying is that we should not need to use HDV split to scene detect or other HDV capture while premiere is claiming to be one of the industrial leaders but can’t do that?

Steve,
Thanks for your reply. Yes, it is “little stuff”, however, it is so basic. When you capture, do you not want to see what you are capturing on the monitor? It like saying, ok, NLE can do all kinds of fancy stuff, but, there is no keyboard shortcuts. They are not important. It is important when you need it and if other NLEs have it. Well, don’t mean take this on you, Steve, you have been great around here. Hope you understand many of our frustrations. Many, if not every time when HDV capture is being discuss in forum, HDVSplit was recommended. Why should a “Fully loaded” NLE lacks this function and people have to rely on a Freeware to do what it should have done in the first place?Perry.

Choose 2 pass will double the time for encoding, and it is only recommended if it is more than 1 hr video. If it is slightly over, just couple minutes, I recommend 1 pass and lower the bitrate just a bit?
