What other graphic cards you have installed? Have you tried lowering the debayer quality?

Hi Kevin,
Finally solved it! Your instructions were perfect, also for the wave they work. But not in 9.0.2… I upgraded and then I got it, finally, working.
Trick here is that there is still a bug involved.
Pressing the reposition reference still function makes the UI jump to the input sizing window, but changing anything there (with keyboard/mouse) will change the shot in the timeline, not the still. So people without control surface will never be able to change their stills. But when you do have a control surface, like the Wave, you have to navigate to ‘input sizing’ there and those controls do affect the reference still.
Glad I got this solved, thanks a lot!

I tried with a Tangent Wave, but like I said, nothing happens to the still. I found an older post on this board of someone having the exact same problem. What puzzles me is that you can do it with your element panel, but I can’t with my Wave or keyboard/mouse. Could it be the version? I’m on 9.0.3, full license, mac osx.

Hi Kevin,
Your solution sounds great and exactly what Im looking for, however when Im displaying a still and I choose the ‘reference reposition’ ,resolve jumps to the input/output sizing window which affects only the shot Im on in the timeline, not the reference still I was displaying. Im pretty sure Im missing something and Im close to solving the whole thing, but could you be a bit more specific please? Thanks a lot!

Did you ever got this matter solved? I’m having the same troubles where I want to stretch my stills but I don’t know how!
Thanks,

Hi Thomes, thanks again, but Im not using stills from the timeline, my stills are in the gallery.
Plus I don’t understand the command+4 command you described. In my world command+4 saves the current grade into memory D. Could you explain what you mean?

Thanks, but
That’s not good news…
I’m constantly saving stills to match them to other shots on the timeline, using a wipe or full image. Having to go thru photoshop is not an option.
Strange though why you can’t watch stills in the same aspect ratio as your footage/timeline. I smell a feature request.

February 7, 2013 at 10:21 am in reply to: The old budget grading monitor question… What PC monitor provides close to 709?Hi,
Since you want a monitor for educational purposes, I think you could invest that money in something more ‘educational’ like a control panel for example. With that you can ‘learn’ a lot and prep yourself for day you’ll start color correcting in a professional room with reference monitoring. To learn the interface and the controls, in my opinion, the viewer in resolve itself, which is even full screen expandable, will do. The educational value of that investment will be higher than investing in a monitor that just isn’t good enough. Once you’re ready to start doing payed jobs, you’ll have the money to upgrade and buy someting nice for monitoring.
But to also answer your postet question: Have you taken a look at Eizo monitors. Some of them have rec 709 presets combined with hardware calibration.
Good luck!

I suggest you read from page 406 and further from the manual, which you can find here:
https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/support/detail?sid=3948&pid=4446&leg=false&os=macHere’s a sample from it:
Combining Tracking and Dynamic Keyframes
You can easily combine object tracking and keyframing to animate windows. For example, you’ll typically use object tracking to make a window follow the position and orientation of a moving feature, but you can add dissolve marks to the window track of the correction in the Color page with which to alter its size and shape to better conform to a feature’s changing form.
So, simply said, to alter the shape of the window, use dynamic keyframing, not the tracking controls.
