Well, firestore allows you to choose the compression you want to have as you your camera feeds the video signal to it. Why can’t we do the same as we play our sequence from fcp?

I have a bunch of G-raid drives and every time i add a new file, I do back it up. It’s not the first time a drive dies on me, and it won’t be the last I’m sure.

  • I’m trying to create just a qt reference from my seq, so I go to export-quick time-settings as current and no contained movie selected. Stills take more than the running time of the sequence, is it still writing media even though the contained movie is unchecked? I don’t have anything red or not render in my seq.

    thanks.

  • I’m sorry but I keep saying that I do have my clips matching the standard dv/dvcpro-ntsc, so that’s not the problem and there’s something else that I can’t see to figure out.

    thanks

I was just clicking the display window, not selecting the clip.

    thanks

  • Not really, I just used iphoto to organize my photos and zoom in them because for that purpose is the fastest way, but unfortunately I could only export a quick time that is 640×480, so from there I converted the file to a regular dv codecs by keeping the frame size, that’s all. The trouble I am encounter must be do to something else we can’t figure out, because the big picture is not at all that complicated.

Rafa, I love cooking but trouble shooting compression stuff is not as fun, wine doesn’t help either.

Let me ask, when I match frame from the canvas to the viewer I noticed that the frame seems to be just a little bit streched on the canvas, what setting could that be? the one where you choose the aspect ratio?

—-So, I want to match the single clip to the rest since is already edited in the sequence, so I opened the actual qt file and export a new one at 30fps replacing the old one. ”
So you exported your QT 29,97 as 30fps in QT?

****I did and it did replace the old one.

–QT have no capabilities to manage Time bases.

**** I did switch to 30fps, the option was there on the advance ntsc dv compression.
