Did you have any luck with this? Would love to figure this out.

My own investigation seems to lead to installing another version of Premiere (CC2014 in my case). As soon as I installed this upgrade, the QuickTime refused to render and failed every time. I had just created a particular setting in AME for a project prior to upgrading (and the resulting encode worked as expected). When I went to use that same preset in the CC2014 it failed.

So I uninstalled the CC, and a bunch of functionality went away so I am now reinstalling CC2014 to see if this helps.

I have the LHi and for the life of me, I cannot get it to upconvert or downconvert in CS5.5. The best I can get is a pink garbled screen. I’ve tried so many different combinations but no go. So having to go the software route which is nowhere near as good.

I’ve sent several requests to AJA tech support but have had zero response, even though their support page says they take “support seriously”. I am on serious deadlines and get no help from AJA? What kind of company are they? So my end product suffers therefore my customers product suffers and am I to blame? I guess so for buying this hunk of junk. And clearly their support is still hung over in Vegas…

So if anyone can advise me I’ll listen, but am seriously considering selling this and moving on to Black Magic?

I am having the same issue… it’s not consistent tho… sometimes it doesn’t happen for days and other times I restart every 10-15 minutes…

I wonder if it has to do with using VTS (DVD) files or some other codec that Premiere just loses sight of?

    Any insight from anyone?

No luck on the blank project. I had to rebuild from the last autosave… I’m on a PC BTW.

No. When I open the project in XML Wrench. The project won’t open in premiere or AE. Says it’s corrupt.

When I open an auto save version in wrench I see lots of data but the corrupt file is blank. Like the data has been replaced with spaces?

    Interesting… good to know this!

so I compared my damaged file (PPro CS5.5 project) in XML Wrench with a auto save file from the same project… the auto save file has a lot of data in it, but the project file is blank… nada…

Tried the AE trick.. no go…

Power bump is what killed my file… I guess Premiere doesn’t actually save any data in the file until it has to…?

I would like to know any update to your workflow, etc. I am on PC using CS5.5 with an AJA LHi card in the box.

I recently used the KiPro to record a show and I could not read the resulting MOV file. Prior to deciding to use this box I did some tests with pro res, which worked flawlessly, however they were NOT from the KiPro, but just HD footage from a Mac. (I do have MacDrive BTW)

The recorded file on a Mac looks great so am wondering what settings, codec, etc. pointers you have so that I may try and use this workflow again.

    thanks
    Paul

Thanks Alex… so in changing out the boxes can I use the existing SATA drives? Do you have any recommendations on boxes?

  • Hey Bob,

What happens with the Highpoint? I have one now… and two Proavio boxes…

February 7, 2011 at 6:52 pm in reply to: LHi Conversion

So a week has gone by and I’ll ask this again:

I am trying to capture & upconvert from Betacam SD (component) to 1920×1080. I’ve tried everything (it seems likes anyway). If someone can point out the steps as the manual seems to be lacking in this regard. I am using Premiere CS5.

I am able to receive a signal when just doing an SD capture but as soon as I enter into the upconversion I can’t see a signal, just the AJA logo.

    Super frustrating.
