yeah, I am not expecting the memory upgrade to improve Resolve, but I do anticipate it to help with Premiere Pro and AE and Nuke. I just don’t want to have it negatively imapact Resolve.

I’m really glad that the FCP7-PP via XML has been working for you. You characterize it as “fairly smoothly”. Would you mind sharing the areas where its rough? I’m not interested in PP -> FCP, just one way. What types of things don’t transfer well? Are there any gotchas? Rules of thumb?

One can only wonder how a treasury containing $70billion is cash can skew one’s perspective on customers to woo and customers not to woo.

It reminds me of the pre Dot Bomb era in Silocon Valley (of which I was a active victim), and how much arrogance became a part of the culture. Until the crash…that was a wake up I tell you. I’m not suggesting Apple may crash because of this. But that we may be experiencing what its like to no longer be one of Apple’s favored demographics as we are arrogantly dismissed.

Then if Apple is so smart and knows its not production ready yet (for many workflows anyways). Why did they pull FCS3 so fast? Its that type of thing that has pissed me off. I now have to manage access to my FCS install discs with a lot of care because they just became critical to my business.

Here is my complete config.

Cubix expansion chassis:
slot1- RedRocket
slot2- NVidea GTX285 (GPU)
slot3- 4x-eSata card
slot4- NVidea GTX285 card (GPU)

MacPro:
slot1- NVidea Quadro 4000 (GUI)
slot2- Cubix HBA
slot3- ATTO R680 Raid card
slot4- Blackmagic card

It looks like I’m getting almost 2x your performance due to the second 285

Not sure if a new MacPro will impact denoise as much as more powerful Cuda cards. And I believe that Peter has said as much.

Vladimir, I have 2-NVidea GTX285 cards in a Cubix expansion chassis. Also in that chassis is a RedRocket card and a 4x-eSata card. The project was running off of my G-Speed PRo SAS RAID in RAID-0 configuration.
