  • Here’s what I’m getting.

  • Expand the track to see if they’re showing up on timeline clips. I’m guessing no since you don’t see them in the Source Monitor.

Select the “Create” tab there on the splash screen. Your selections here are persistent by the way. So one click and it’s just like the old days.

I’ve got a gig coming up that will be all on new Dell workstations and I’m looking forward to it. Just the change of pace I suppose. The other day I sent some script revisions to a designer that hired me and he sent me a note back thanking me but in the future to please use Word and not Pages. Said he will no longer work with software that is platform specific. Now, this guy’s entire shop is Mac, but every box will eventually be replaced with a PC he tells me.

  • I’m a big fan of the Info Panel. Can’t dock it like others though. That bugs me.

Select the clip and look in the Effects Controls Panel. Select the Master Clip tab and the R3D dialogue you’re looking for will be there.

Personally, I would set the exposure in Premiere and send the troublesome shots to Speedgrade. Much more streamlined workflow. But that’s a personal workflow decision. Whatever works for you. Speedgrade goes MUCH deeper than the Lumetri Color Panel, but they work hand in hand.

    Not the Lumetri Panel.

    R3D gets more access.

Highlight a clip in your timeline and select the Master Clip tab in the Effects Control window. You’ll be given Temp, Tint, Exposure controls that are a great place to start with DNG. Or drag a clip (DNG seq) from your Project Bin to the Source Monitor and find the same controls plus the LCP controls on the same tab. R3D files get quite a few more controls and functionality using this same workflow. All of this replaces the now greyed out “Source Settings” that were functional in this regard up to CC 2015.

I didn’t shoot it so I can’t say what CP was used. But I corrected a ProRes clip in SG and then saved off the .look and applied it to the MTS in PPro and it looked EXACTLY the same. That’s when I decided to just use the MTS. I’ve done some extremely low light tests with the C100 and it grades wonderfully. CC2015 will handle those shots just fine if you don’t want to go to SG.

I did Cinema DNG with it just yesterday.
