Unfortunately, that’s not an option, given the time difference and location difference there is almost no way (shy of having someone get a charter flight with the drive) to get a drive back to the colorist

See what happens if you attempt to capture it in smaller chunks, such that all the clips are less then 4GB each

When you say it fails, how so? Does it give any sort of message, or does the file simply not play back correctly?

I should also add that if the server is disconnected, the project opens fine (abet with all the media off-line)

in iChat, under the file menu, choose “Share a File with iChat Theater” (need Leopard)

Yes, the problem occurs when loading the MXF files (direct copies of the whole card) off of a HFS+ formated drive, both one connected via Fiber Channel, and off of the internal HD, and when loading directly off of the P2 card.
