Solid state and dedicated GPU is a must.
Retina also has CUDA GPU for Davinci or Premiere.

Fcp7 will be around for a year or 2.
But if you dont explore premiere cs6 or fcpx in the meantime you’re asking for troubles.Premiere cs6 is great. 64 bit. Aja/blackmagic support. Fcp xml import export. Future developement. And more.
Fcpx is great. New editing philosophy. Great multicam. Great audio based syncing. Great metadata management.
Future is nice:)

Yeah its terrible. We can do broadcast hdsdi capturing and monitoring on an iMac or Mac Mini because of Thunderbolt from fcpx/fcp7/Cs6/media composer.
Also we have high speed external storage on an iMac because of thunderbolt.
Technology and Apple suck. -
Another Blackmagic Consultant adviced to contact JL Cooper with this problem.

Fcpx has optical flow.
Or use twixtor.

A stable OS with as less maintenance as possible is just as much ‘key’ if you ask me.

I think you had installed wrong nvidia driver.
There are 2 different osx drivers floating around on the nvidia site. -
Working several months with fcpx on mountain lion?

Check the colorspaces in Photoshop or Preview.
Should be RGB.
