  • Problems with JLCooper EclipseCX & 9.0.1 and/or Mountain Lion 10.8.2?

Posted by Mel Matsuoka on September 27, 2012 at 9:40 pm

I just upgraded to 10.8.2, and Resolve 9.0.1, and I cant seem to get Resolve to see my EclipseCX Midnight panel anymore.

The panel is still reachable on the network (confirmed via ping), but no matter what I do–Repair Perms, switch ethernet cable, uninstall/reinstall newest Eclipse 2.9.1 driver, reinstall Resolve 9.0.1, etc.–Resolve wont take control of the panel.

I’m not sure if this is a 10.8.2 issue, or a R9.0.1 issue, but can anyone here confirm if their Eclipse panel works fine with a similar config?

We recently discovered an issue with the JLCooper panel and OS X 10.8.2. It is an OS X 10.8.2 specific issue, and only affects the JLCooper panel. We are working on a solution. In the meantime, the only solution is not to use OS X 10.8.2.

Has anyone encountered this issue on 9.0.3 and 10.7.4 (if it’s not .4 it’s the version directly before 10.7.5)?

I tried a bunch of stuff this afternoon and can’t get a connection…

It’s too late for me to test it on 10.7.x, but for what it’s worth, I can say that 9.0.3 definitely fixed the communication issue for me on 10.8.2.

Fixed the problem… i forgot the Eclipse ethernet software was installed, did some avid testing and totally forgot about it. Ran the uninstaller and all is fixed.

    Definately a “doh” moment.

Hello, I’ve noticed a different bug between resolve 9.0.4 and Lion/Mountain Lion and Eclipse CX: when you first install Resolve without configuring Eclipse, it will ask for only 1GB of RAM (just Resolve start), but if you give Resolve the right address of JLCooper (everything works), then Resolve requires 4GB from the beginning!

Consider I have 8 GB of RAM, then it becomes impossible to work.

I’ve tried reinstalling several times OS X, 10.7 and 10.8.2, but always the same problem.

    Any advice?

    Thnx!
