All your drives have e-sata. Get a lacie sata thunderbolt hub and you will have 2 drives running SATA speeds for fast editing.

With thunderbolt and retina you will be editing on a 15”

750p50 is only nice when you’re playing back in 50P.
Which is currently not the case on TV, DVD, Youtube, VIMEO.
50P is great for creating nice slowmo’s when conforming to 25P
So basicly your friend doesn’t know what he’s talking about.

Meaning it will work but you won’t get any broadcast output over PCIe or Thunderbolt.

Quicktime is dead in Moutain Lion. All AV Foundation.
Stick to Lion and look for a future edit application.
Btw. FCPX and Premiere CS6 are both awesome.
