OK I would say I feel stupid…but I don’t totally. Your post asking me what kind of disc I was using got me to thinking…I tried a different/new disc (same exact brand, just different disc) and it started working! Bad disc??? Possible I guess…but why not throw up an error saying Bad Disc or Check disc…instead of the RANDOM error it gives…Oh well…that would make life simple I guess…

I have tried both ways and it still does it. I prefer creating the disk all at once instead of creating the file first. Neither is working. I have successfully created Blu-ray discs just a month or so ago using the same kind of BD-R discs I am using now, so I know it’s not the media. It never gets to that point anyway. 2x burn speed. I am using Windows XP Professional. I had this error msg. once before and I THINK I re-installed DVD Architect to get it working again, but not 100% sure. I don’t want to keep having to re-install software if that will even fix it again. Thanks for any assistance!

  • Retrieving media info…Please wait…

This message appears when I try to create a Blu-ray disc.
It will remain on this window USUALLY until I force a close of the program. Sometimes it errors out with a long error message.

If you installed on the same computer that version 4.5 was on, it should work as an upgrade. It should recognize that you have a version on your computer.

No, nothing required. It recognized that I had a previous version and asked if I wanted to update to 5.0. Answered yes, and poof…it was done.

February 4, 2010 at 4:44 pm in reply to: HD editing problems in Platinum 9 and 8 Pro

I continue to have problems with Vegas 8.0c
I am editing HD video from my Canon 5D Mark II and the program bombs constantly. Some of the video clips look red and won’t even play back. I dropped the same clips in a “cheaper” editing program and they work fine. When I tried to burn my project to a Blu-ray DVD is gives some fatal exception error and bombs out. ANY HELP would Be GREATLY appreciated. Paul
