August 31, 2010 at 4:22 pmRetrieving media info…Please wait…
This message appears when I try to create a Blu-ray disc.
It will remain on this window USUALLY until I force a close of the program. Sometimes it errors out with a long error message. -

September 2, 2010 at 3:31 amAre you creating the content first and then trying to burn the disc separately?
What sort of media are you using in the drive? BD-R, BD-RE? If you are re-using a BD-RE disc, you may need to format it first.
What burn speed are you trying to burn at?
What brand of BD disc are you using?
Intel i920, 12GB RAM, ASUS P6T, Vegas Pro 9 (X64), Vista x64 Ultimate, Vegas Production Assistant 1.0, VASST Ultimate S 4.1

September 2, 2010 at 1:14 pmI have tried both ways and it still does it. I prefer creating the disk all at once instead of creating the file first. Neither is working. I have successfully created Blu-ray discs just a month or so ago using the same kind of BD-R discs I am using now, so I know it’s not the media. It never gets to that point anyway. 2x burn speed. I am using Windows XP Professional. I had this error msg. once before and I THINK I re-installed DVD Architect to get it working again, but not 100% sure. I don’t want to keep having to re-install software if that will even fix it again. Thanks for any assistance!

September 2, 2010 at 4:13 pmOK I would say I feel stupid…but I don’t totally. Your post asking me what kind of disc I was using got me to thinking…I tried a different/new disc (same exact brand, just different disc) and it started working! Bad disc??? Possible I guess…but why not throw up an error saying Bad Disc or Check disc…instead of the RANDOM error it gives…Oh well…that would make life simple I guess…

September 3, 2010 at 1:12 amGlad to be of assistance.
FYI, I have had a 100% failure rate using BD-R discs and a 100% success rate using BD-RE. I use Shintaro discs as they are the only ones I can buy that are inkjet printable.
When I used BD-R, it would actually say the disc creation was successful after about 1.5 hours of burning, but when I flipped the disc over, I could see only a fraction of the disc was used. It would load in my player and play a small portion of the content, such as the menu, or just one chapter. Go figure.
I have had no such problems with BD-RE.
