This has happened to me to and what I found out was that the footage was shot in 4:3 and not 16:9. Letterbox is the same as widescreen just as AC-3 is the same as Dolby Digital, they are just called different names by different users. Your picture looks like it wasn’t shot in 16:9?

Ok so I’ve spent the past 2 days trying out everything that was suggested and NOTHING has cured the issue… has anyone tried doing what was suggested or is it just in theory? I need something that works, and nothing is working. turning resampling off did nothing, adjusting the settings as was suggested did nothing. I guess I’ll have to go over to my brother’s and try editing on his Mac and see if that cures the issue… I read somewhere that 5D shoot in a format that Vegas has yet to be compatible with… and to edit using FCP or Adobe.

Well if you guys have anymore suggestions please let me know, I’d rather edit using Vegas but I have to do what I have to do.:\

ha yeah read my other post about pro 11 https://forums.creativecow.net/readpost/24/948450

so that aint happening… I’ll try out that plugin and try editing or rendering it under a different frame rate see if that helps

Hmm so that is why when I use slow motion on footage shot by my FX7 works great becusse it’s shooting at a higher frame rate then the 5D? So if I plan on using slo mo I need to set the 5D to a higher frame rate. I haven’t looked at the plugin you suggested yet, do you happen to know if it’s free?

I’m sure they are not set correctly for high rez 5D footage

I have had to revert back to pro 10.. this really sucks, I paid almost $300 or whatever it was to upgrade to 11 and now I can’t even use it!! Thanks Sony!

I don’t understand why allot of people are experiencing the same problem but you or you fixed it. Is it something we are doing wrong or a setting that needs to be changed. Crashing during rendering isn’t my only issue. It will also crash while I am adding color correction or even if I’m scrubing through footage. Just out of the blue crashes. I spent the amount of money for the upgrade and I can’t even use it. I had issues with pro 10 also then when Sony released all the updates haven’t had any problems. So hurry up Sony fix these issues!!
