    Hi Filip, thanks.
Unfortunately, as this would be a widely used ‘toolkit’ there wouldn’t necessarily be the option to have precomps existing in a.mainComp to be swapped.

Worked a treat. Thanks again…though I will say it was more functional in this instance to Time-reverse the layer…rather than the keyframes.

    Cheers!

You make this sound amazingly simple Walter.

    Diving in now.

    Thankyou!

It’s a little of both. Ideally, as there is potential to translate into (up to) 100 languages, it would be a largely automated process. That said, we do have access to staffing resource whereby we can identify specific words to be used across the translations. So to this end, the variables and set up is absolutely something we have the capacity to do.

it’ll be a massive data set either way

For those who are interested, it seems Templater (by Dataclay) holds the functionality…obviously, as above a deal of planning and structure is needed to roll this out across a significant project.

Yes. Thanks Tomas. The groundwork (and the simplified framework you suggest) is absolutely something we’re planning. I just want to push ahead and know that it’s ultimately possible. We do have the ability to access/resource a developer for the build. But also curious to see if existing solutions may have existed.

Thanks for chiming in though. Always appreciated 🙂

    Yep cool. See…dreaming. 🙂

Thanks again Filip, I guess I was overthinking it

Actually. testing that now…it works…however keyframes aren’t getting set. i.e, if the Point Controller is used it will key it there, but not on the shape layer and vice versa. Or have I misinterpreted your explanation?

    HAHAHA. Gold. Thanks Filip.
Here I was using all sorts of wild if() statements.

    Thanks mate.

That’s the conundrum though isn’t it…they’d both be right…because they’d both be the same value. Just how they are set might vary. i.e, a user might set some keys with the Point Controller, but then decide to adjust those keys in the Comp window (directly and visually).

    Make sense?

(In the same way we could position a layer in a comp with value controls, and/or just grab the layer and move it.)

I know this might be a bit of a brain-breaker…but I SWEAR there’s a potential use case for this.
