Yes. I have this problem also Michael. It’s really annoying. I have to shuffle tracks around to make sure any track(s) I re-sync are on trks A1&2 otherwise the whole thing crashes.

One way would be to shoot the band on green screen sitting on the furniture and slowmo/comp the fight into the background.

this tutoria is pretty close to what you’re looking for I think.

I’ve used this effect, it works pretty well. You just need to insert a still frame under the flash and extend it out a litle to get that frozen feel.
Hope this helps

If it suits the style of what you are trying to achieve you could have a ‘host’ type person running the I/V that way they could just pass the mic around. A bit like a talk show audience.Think Oprah. Problem solved.

Hi again Michael,
i tracked down your answer to the SD V HD lens question here:
https://forums.creativecow.net/thread/193/872060
seems pretty clear what I’m up against.
Sorry to highjack your thread about your cool new Convergent Design Nano Flash.
It’s on my list of things to get. But to be honest by the time I’ve got the $ for it, someone will probably have come up with something cheaper to do the same job.All the best. Please keep us posted how you get on with it.

Right, so that’s an HD lens?
See, the thing is I’ve tried an SD Fuji 19×6.5BRM lens on the front of mine and it looks okay to me. So I can’t figure out why I’d shell out the $ for an HD equivalent. Admittedly I haven’t tested/compared it a lot but I’d like to know your thoughts on this.
Yeah, re the M/Box etc. I’m looking into the cavision, because I’ve heard similar re the redrock stuff and don’t really have the $ for the croziel or Arri etc.

Nice.
What lens and mattebox set up have you got on there?

March 31, 2009 at 6:58 am in reply to: EX3 Matte box/shoulder mount set up. Advice please. Thanks for that Steve. They look like interesting products. I’ll definitely look into them a bit more.
If there was someway of combining them and getting them onto a shoulder rig that’d be great. I guess I might have to bite it on a quick release set up like the sony ENG/baseplate set ups have. With this GAP adaptor plate when you quick release it from the base plate it looks like you have to take the adaptor with it on the bottom of the camera. Which is fine in case when you have time to take it off the bottom of the camera but could get annoying if you need to get it off in a hurry.
At the moment I’m leaning slightly towards a Redrock micro shoulder set up – because I can quickly get it onto the tripod if I need to (although I’m not a big fan of how that’s set up on this unit) and I’m also starting to like the idea of the handgrip set up for operating handheld. Otherwise I’d go for the VGGadgets unit Olof linked me to (which looks sturdy as a base plate but doesn’t have the handgrips, and I’m still researching what it’s actually like for shoulder work. But I’d probably also get on of these GAP adaptor plates for more controlled on sticks shoots.
The Mattebox I’m still working out – I’ll do that when I’ve settled on the rest of the kit. Sorry for the rant, just sort of getting this straight in my own head. Thanks again for the advice and links.
