    Hi Ralph

    a couple of questions:

how many vob files are on the disc?
have you tried exporting the vob files out of streamclip individually?

If for some reason it is protected you could try downloading mac the ripper (free), creating a new TS folder on your desktop and working from that.

    Cheers

    Hi Tyler,

My hunch is you won’t fetch much (if anything) for this technology. There are too many new technologies available at a reasonable price with superior features.

Having said that, I guess the end of the day, like most things it’s worth whatever someone is willing to pay for.

    Right, thanks heaps.

This is great info for me right now because I’m just testing all this. I’ve got some test shoot days coming up where I’m mostly going to mess about with different record settings. I’ve done some initial shooting on the ex3 and used my Powerbook to transfer the files from the camera to a FW800 drive using sonys transfer tools. It worked ok but I ended up just transferring QT files which I understand isn’t ideal. I need the other folders and stuff right? (still getting my head around all this)

I also have a G5 Quad but I’m looking into a new Mac pro right now.

Anyway, how are you finding the ProRezz 422 HQ codec?

I’d be keen to hear what your experience editing uncompressed was like as well, and how your uncompressed workflow works. IE codecs, project settings. Import/Export settings in and out of M100, AE, Color etc if you’ve done all that?

Thanks again for sharing this with me.

    Cheers

    Hi David,

thanks for that. Yes it’s the later nano flash unit I am interested in. So I’m looking forward to hear your experience with it.

You may have noticed CD have not made any specific mention of M100 but have mentioned FCP, Avid and Premier etc. But as I say QT should do the trick. I’m guessing you’ll be able to import clips straight from the card reader to M100? Hmm, or will it come with some clip browsing software?

Wow, I changed it to Analog and the problems seems to be fixed. But is this right. I’m pretty sure this has been set the AES/EBU (XLR) in the past. What should it be set to?

Thanks for that floh. Good advice.

Okay, cool we have some progress. When I disable the audio the video runs just fine.

The audio is running from XLRs out of the deck into the mixer then into the BOBOX. Hmm, wonder of the mixer shat itself? Might try by-passing the mixer and see what happens.

Hi again Floh answers to some of your questions:

What are the sync indicator boxes showing (the boxes next to the V and A1A2 buttons)? are they yellow?

The video is green (but yet no pictures) and the audio is Yellow (I’m getting weird low level distorted audio now). I must add I’m running the audio via a little 8 track mixer.

And is the timecode from Media100 or from the deck? Do you have any other Component source to try?

Not at hand, but isn’t it a bit weird I’m having both audio and video problems? I’m going to track dowm another component source.

Is the green light at the Kona BOB active?

    Yes.

    Anymore thought greatly appreciated.

    Cheers
    Paul
