I’ve used the Lexicon Omega for years with both my laptop and mainframe. No problems yet and the quality is excellent for V/O work. It’s USB interface has no latency to speak of. Would also recommend the M-Audio units.

My almost brand new DVX not only has flicker in the EVF, the whole camera freezes up on an irregular and unpredicable basis. In fact I’m on my way to the service center in a few hours. Sounds like you may need warantee service on yours too. The tech at the service center said he’s seen many instances of this lately.
