i dont know how, i didnt do anything, i am a computer heavy user, i edit in vegas since vegas 7 for many years, so i usually know what is going on in my hardware. and i am telling you it just started working without any action.strange days are coming 🙂

mkv is a container. find out what is inside. maybe you don’t need to transcode but only take it out of the container.

Use afterr effects or hitfilm for that. Track a car in 2d, choose a point which is visible for all the time you need. Attache your text to the data of the tracking. In the end manually add Z axis movement and the rotation of the text. I guess thats more or less all you can do about that.

appdata is a hidden system folder so depending on yr system settings you may have to enable seeing hidden folders on yr system first. -
1. which sv r u using?
2. go to something like
C:\Users\Capricorn\AppData\Local\Sony\Vegas Pro\10.0
where capricorn will be your username and 10.0 will be your version number
3. you should find there autosave files and you will probably find veg files autosaved before your project got corrupted. so you may rescue maybe not all of your work progress but you wouldnt have to work on it from the scratch.
4. if you work on SV10 or lower you can give me the corrupted veg. maybe i could help -
you can try with tracks set to 3d and compositing child but it is not so easy in vegas. it is probably done in AE. unfortunatelly it is very hard to move camera in vegas

no worries mate, no offense taken. just listen to pro guys here which really know what they say (and i don’t feel being good enough to include myself in that group).
With that change of attitude I can change my approach too.
I am not gonna lokk for a workaround because I don’t know TO WHAT that workaround should apply. We need to know what is the real problem.

take any media that you can import into your vegas, no matter audio or video and try to render it as wav (Waves Microsoft) template. After you do so, try to import into Vegas that wav which you just created. try to play it in media player. tell us what happened then.2
where does your wavs come from. maybe the problem comes with your wav files. there are wavs and wavs. what device has created your problematic wavs?3
take that wav file which you cannot import into vegas and try to play it on your system. does yoyr windows media player or winamp or any other program apart from SV can play them?that is all for now.

as good as i see it nobody implied that you were saying that vegas sucked.
2.
if you are unable to comprehend this i’ll try to make it simpler: if your heart is aching continuously, you don’t look for workarounds. you need medical attention immediately.
which means
if your vegas doesn’t accepts wavs, and reinstalling gives no help, you don’t look for other ways. you fix your system instead.
