Not sure about the status of Final Cut Server, but it looks to be a fairly powerful solution for FCP-based facilities. CATDV has great support and is updated frequently, but I haven’t tried it on a massive library. iView is also an option. Good luck!

Hi — just for the record, I have MC Software-only installed on my iMac and it works like a charm. I have FCP on there too. Sometimes I have them both running at the same time. No problems at all. Good for overflow work. cheers, Paul

Trash the media database(s) on all drives and then let Avid rebuild them. Eliminate any ‘creating’ files. If Avid continues to scan after this, then you have corrupt files. Sorting by size usually fishes these out. Good luck – paul

Thank you, Michael. Unfortunately that won’t work with imported clips — once upon a time you could, I think, once you accepted all the multiple warnings…since Avid won’t import TC tracks it would be great to be able to do this. But then again I could have dreamt it…

Hi — this works for source, but it seems that ‘Modify Time Code” is broken. Steps proceed as always, but net result is no change in start time code. This was once a good thing. (Avid MC version 2.7)

Hi Ben – does that mean the the field switching is a non-issue? I haven’t seen any problems but I cannot preview on the VOD server. Best I can do is cook a dvd with source mpg and watch it that way.

I thought Procoder was PC only. I’ll have to check it out.

    thanks
