We figured out that a compiled clip in the bin was causing some kind of problem. Deleted that clip and things seem to be working fine.
Thanks for your help.

p.s. to above post.
using Mac 10.2.4
not saving over a network… using a RAID array and saving things to a firewire drive also.

Huge stab in the dark.
Can AE read XML files? Maybe an expression could be written and then that comma delimited file could be read in as .csv or converted to an xml file.
Flash would probably be able to do this with a little coding.
The timecode plugin comes to mind also.
My 1.5 cents.

THanks.. have heard about it… will try and play with it.

Ok, I feel dumb. I spend my time going between Mac and PC and low and behold I do have the Quicktime Pro on my Mac. They must have included it when I bought my Mac.
Happy New Year to all.

First of all a big thanks to you both Aharon & Steve,
I have been following both of your tutorials for a couple years now. Also, I have purchased some of the master series videos for Zaxwerks. I hated to miss your Maxon Cinema 4D tour Aharon and am seriously considering the move from 3DSMax but hate to learn another app.
Anyway, I wasn’t aware that I could export from the Quicktime player but now I know, nice. I found an app online called MPEG stream and it seems to work too. For some reason I’ve resisted buying Quicktime pro… don’t know why as I spend much more on other programs.
I’m always amazed by the timely and thoughtful responses here.
Kudos to you both.

Thanks for the thoughtful input. I agree that the workflow and the familiarity are reasons enough to stick with Media100.

Thanks for your thoughtful replies… I think that we’ll just stay with the older systems, for now.
Shortly we are going to purchase 1 or 2 new systems around ($3000) each and would welcome any recommendations for a studio that has 3 G4s and one G5… and we’re running two LE’s and two LX’s with one system with Media 100 7.1… two with 8.1.. and one with 8.2.3.
Wondering if all of that hardware(breakout box, mackie sound control and scsi’s) will become obsolete and what might best compliment the systems we have. One of the systems is a single processor and we are definitely wanting to purchase a multiprocessor systems. Wondering if the software only solution was the was to go and then buy a aja or black magic external firewire input box or the like.
I suppose any upgrade should start to focus on the fact that HD is a reality and we will be phasing it in over the next couple of years.
Don’t want to overdue it on the questions.
