From what I’ve read MPEG2 gives reasonable results in much shorter encoding times.
I am planning to use about 32-40 mbps bitrate and the quality on previews looks fine for me. I’ll check the H264.
Are there any compatibility issues with H264? Or every player would play it smoothly same way as MPEG2?
Are higher bitrates somehow risky and may they cause choppy playback? Or there’s enough processing power in the players to deal with all bitrates?
