  • Vector blur workflow + CC Vector blur documentation?

    Hi,

    I am doing some research on how to get the most efficient rendering of my particle project being done in Max and Krakatoa. It’s a static scene with moving camera.

    Since motion blur in Krakatoa combined with DOF is expensive, I am thinking about the following workflow:

    3dMAX ->
    –> Render Footage
    –> Render relative speeds of pixels to the camera as a color bitmap (RGB values can nicely map XYZ motion vectors)

    -> AE (or other post app)
    -> load footage
    -> appy directional or vector blur basing on my velocity bitmap file

    I think that CC Vector blur is probably the right tool, but I can’t find any documentation on how exactly the maps should look like. Was not able to get it also via experimenting.

    Or maybe I should use other effects?

    The idea is to map velocities to RGB, render and use that to apply directional or vector blur in post.

    Anybody been through that?
    Help appreciated.
