Ok, OK, I remember now. Sorry to say, it was not a keyboard shortcut, but rather a button combo for the Avid Artist Color ( Left Shift > Next/Previous Frame)
I was pretty excited when I found this, as I don’t see it in any of the PDF’s I’ve got.

Dangit. I had this working just the other day! Pretty sure there were arrow keys involved. Can’t for the life of me, get it working now. Or remember the key combination. Aaargh!

However, keep in mind that, the EuControl software does not know the difference between left and right shift. It sees them as the same thing. This is significant because it means that any manual programming of the shift key replaces both the left and right sides. So, in essence, you are losing 9 soft keys by manually programming the shift keys.

Actually, the Avid Artist Color surface IS programmable with Resolve. All 9 of the soft keys, in both standard and left shift, are fully programmable. So, that’s 18 customizable keys. Not as many as I’d like, but not bad.

I’ve tried manually converting all non-29.97 clips to 29.97. I still get the extents errors, but I AM able to force confirm them. Unfortunately they play like crap, almost like they’re in slow motion.
I’m starting to think that the best solution is to go back to Premiere, change the sequence setting to Non-Drop Frame, export the XML, and use this in Resolve, as this seems to bring everything in looking and playing fine. As long as the clips I output are re-imported into the same, adjusted Premiere timeline, we should be OK. The start and end timecode numbers are different from the original timeline, but I’m thinking that shouldn’t make much of a difference as long as things stay consistent.
Whadya think?

Try to get your administrators to let you download and install the lite (free) version of Davinci Resolve, though you will need to make sure that the school computer can run it efficiently. But if they will allow it, and it runs ok, the Hue vs Hue and the Hue vs Sat controls will be your friend for the effect you’re wanting.

I’ve been having, and thus researching this problem of late, and happened on this thread. I have since found a solution.
I’m sure others have figured this out already, but I’ll post it here just in case. And if anyone sees any issues with my workaround, please post here.
I have found that setting an Input Zoom value of exactly 2 in Resolve solves the problem.
When comparing to a reference movie, inside Resolve, I have found that doing this preserves all the resizing etc that was done in Premiere perfectly. And, since I am doing an Input Zoom instead of a Node Zoom, from mostly 4k files, there is no loss in quality.
So, it seems that Premiere-generated XMLs that contain sizing info are causing footage to be zoomed out, or shrunk, by a factor of 2 inside Resolve. Not sure why this is happening, but at least it’s consistent, and can be dealt with.

October 2, 2013 at 1:03 am in reply to: Need LOG color space for Standard Style footage.Hi Juan. Thanks for the response. Yes, I do realize that I’m not adding any information to the clip by flattening it out into a more log (all lowercase) space. Was just looking for a common starting point for various clips that I have on the same timeline, some of which were shot with cinestyle. Plus, I’ve become used to working this way and I find it to be a nice workflow with a solid starting point.
Out of curiosity, how would YOU go about grading footage that come from a non log place? I follow your work, and The Coloristos ColorCast is must hear listening for me, so any advice you might have would be appreciated.
Thanks again.

September 12, 2013 at 5:20 am in reply to: Intensity Pro + Plasma setup, a few questions about Resolve and Colour SpacesDid you ever find a solution to that second questions? I’m in a similar situation now and am wondering if and how I’ll convert a YUV signal to .. well, to whatever my Panny Pro needs. YUV as well? RGB?

September 11, 2013 at 3:56 pm in reply to: Current state of Plasma HDTV vs LED vs Broadcast monitor (for color correction)You’ve probably already found an answer to your question, but seeing as how I was just recently dealing with this issue myself, I thought I’d chime in.
COLORHCFR does indeed work with the i1Display Pro (consumer version), but I found that I needed to uninstall the X-Rite software first, which was fine by me as I was getting nothing but crappy results from it anyway.
Hope this helps.
