Disappointing that this is still a problem 2 years later…

Purchased expecting to use (trial ran out) and unable.

I backed up and reformatted with Disk Utility and everything was back to normal. It should work for you as well, as I now have 4 of these drives up and working properly with Premiere after being formatted with Disk Utility. OWC points to Adobe, but if they work after being formatted with Disk Utility then I think the issue is with their formatting utility.

Andrew and Kevin, I ran in to this same issue today… Contacted OWC (they are apparently unaware of the issue) and searched the Adobe forums but didn’t find anything useful there. Fortunately I found this post. Unfortunately, I don’t have a spare to back up to in order to reformat my drive. I should have one soon and will post back if the solution works for me as well.

In the meantime, I wonder if there are any ramifications of reconnecting media not using the media browser and using the finder interface? I am working with C300, P2, and F5 material, so I always use the Media Browser to import footage.

    ****EDIT****
Found link to archived drivers so I can roll back to 6.6.
Seems like Desktop Video 8.5 is not compatible with Mac OSX 10.5.8, and Decklink 7.9.4 is not compatible with FCP 6… hence my problems.

Big thanks to Richard at Blackmagic Tech support for helping me solve this problem over the phone today!

yeah, this was the only file – i ended up trying it again and it worked. i’ve found that these things can be finicky, sometimes they wont mount if they are only plugged in via fw800. usually if i plug them in to the provided power supply, i’ll have fewer problems.

i’ve attempted to upload a screenshot.
basically this error will happen at some point during the offload but if i retry, it works.
anything i should be looking out for?

    Chuck,
MacDrive is going to be your best bet, and it is relatively inexpensive…
