  • cannot offload kipro – corrupt frame?

Posted by Patrick Payne on February 16, 2011 at 6:14 pm

I am having problems offloading/copying a file that was recorded on a kipro drive.
I have had this problem in the past and it seemed as if there was a bad frame somewhere in the file, and whenever the disk was being read at that point, it would stop reading and give me an error.
This would also happen in FCP if I try to export the file as a work around. If I watched the video, it would play fine in real time, but frame by frame would reveal the error.

    Does anybody have any advice?

Is this a problem with this specific drive, recorder, both, etc? Anyone experienced the same issue?

What exactly is happening? Meaning are you getting an error, system freeze?

i’ve attempted to upload a screenshot.
basically this error will happen at some point during the offload but if i retry, it works.
anything i should be looking out for?

[Patrick Payne] “i’ve attempted to upload a screenshot.”

Thanks, that helps. Next time you can click the little “washing machine” icon (Supposed to look like a still camera) and embed the link directly.

Is it only that file that is tripping you up?

yeah, this was the only file – i ended up trying it again and it worked. i’ve found that these things can be finicky, sometimes they wont mount if they are only plugged in via fw800. usually if i plug them in to the provided power supply, i’ll have fewer problems.
