Thank you for the input Chad. On this particular deck, on sub menu 4, there is an outref button. As you said, this needs to be set to input. To playback tapes (on my rack setup anyway) this has to be switched back to ref to play cleanly.

Deck is up and running, and seems to be working great.

Thank you. You were right, the blue only function does exist. It was found in sub menu 6, page 4, in the second option. Of course the manual for the unit doesn’t supply this information too well. So again, thank you for your assistance and saving me a bit of cash on the calibrator kit.

Gentlemen,

Thank you all for your time on this matter. After some testing and troubleshooting, it seems to be localized to that one clip. For some reason, everything else has been stable. At this time, I am going to say that it was just a hiccup in the program. If anything else comes up with this, I will be sure to post and give you my breakdown of what is going on.

No stills at all. The timeline includes DVCPRO HD Footage, and Motion templates for our graphics.

The deck is a Panasonic HD1200A. The interesting thing is,I can play the timeline and layoff the tape that way, although that is not the ideal method, i.e. someone hits a button accidentally and ruins the layoff.

Anything you think I should try would be great. I am going to be messing with some settings in the meantime to get it working.
