    Hi gang,

I just got a brand spankin’ new HDW-2000 deck from Sony. I have been getting this thing configured and integrated into my rack. I seem to have everything working except for my video signal. When recording, I am getting a garbled, pixellated, green image on tape. I have tried pretty much everything, and I cannot seem to get this running, any suggestions as to what may be causing this?

    Here is my setup,

Mac OS X 10.6.6, Quad Core Intel Chip
    FCP 7.0.3
    Kona 3 Card
    Blackmagic Decklink Multibridge
    Sony HDW-2000

    Thank you in advance,

    Pat

Assuming you’re not feeding your Kona and the HDW-2000 a common sync (if you are, make sure it is correct on both for the frequency you’re recording and the deck is set to REF IN), find the REF setting on the deck and set it to video in/input video – that will lock it to the video in.

    Does that stabilize the recording?

Thank you for the input Chad. On this particular deck, on sub menu 4, there is an outref button. As you said, this needs to be set to input. To playback tapes (on my rack setup anyway) this has to be switched back to ref to play cleanly.

Deck is up and running, and seems to be working great.

    Thanks
