That’s less ideal but still possible.
Ensure user settings aren’t moved between MC Versions and ideally I’d not move projects. I’d create the same project on both systems (same name format etc) and just move bins between them. But if you have to move projects that should work. (as a rule I try and avoid moving projects and just move bins)Pat Horridge

As long as your V7 MC is supported on both OS versions all should be good.

Most likely they are corrupt files if the export failed. I presume they won’t open? Even in VLC?
I can’t imagine how a source file was dumped before the destination had been backedup and QC checked.Pat Horridge

That’s just what I teach.
You normally have the clip name the original file name and the clip start timecode an overcut from the high res source is quick and simple.
The key to a smooth conform is oversight from ingest onwards. Pre deal with sources that aren’t robust in post like gopro and dslr.

I’d agree. The conform is the offline edit preparation for finishing. Now if using resolve and a round trip you may choose to do some of the conform in Resolve. But Resolve isn’t as powerful or flexible at actual editing so its easier to just use it for the grade.
As an aside its amazing how many post houses now use a Resolve grade round trip producing results I know their Avid could have achieved in far less time and effort. Avids grading tools may be dated and clunky but they work as well as ever and can produce quality results. Coupled with Avid supporting UHD and 2K 4K many jobs just don’t need Resolve. Just because its free doesn’t mean it has to be used.Pat Horridge

In MC a stereo track is a singke track with stereo in it. Ideal for music etc as you can apply chamges to both channels in one go.
You can’t edit a stereo track to any track other tgan a stereo track. Sounds like your timeline has mono tracks. So MC won’t let you patch to them. It will make a new stereo track to enable the edit
2 ways to do it. Modifiy the stereo clip in the bin to dusl mono or right click on tge stereo track in the timeline and select split to mono.Pat Horridge

What are you trying to achieve?
A track with just filler serves no function unless you have an effect on it like a reformat or safe color limiter.
Add an effect to an empty track and MC will add filler.Pat Horridge

Do an audio mixdown to a new track at 24bit 48khz
Then replace the seq audio with that.
To be safe I’d also replace the video with a dnx185x mixdown. Then do a SAS of that.Pat Horridge

I’d stick with an off the shelf system. HP Z840
The HP systems are real work horses.
No MC makes poor use of GPU. I have a K2000 card and thats more than enough for my needs.Pat Horridge

Pretty sure a DCP can take subtitles serperatly so display is optional like a DVD subtitles.
Never had much luck with subtitles and alphas. Always looks crude.
If you use the subcap effect in Avid you start with a subtitle list with timings that can be used for the DCP. Possibly even Resolve. If you created each title individually you are stuck.Pat Horridge
