Was the export set to full range levels or studio levels?

Avid DNx codecs are fixed datarate so the actual datarate is what it is.
Prores however is a variable datarate so if the content isn’t demanding enough to use the full datarate the datarate is lowered. You can’t force Prores to use all the datarate. If you have Prores HQ then that’s what it is.Pat Horridge

Don’t transcode dnx120 to dnx 185 its pointless.
Either AMA the h264 files and transcide to dnx185x (the 10 bit codec will improve grading precision)
Or AMA the h264. Transcode to dnx120 for offline. Relink final sequence to H264 sources then transcode to dnx185x.
Up rezing 120 to 185 just increases file size for no quality gain.Pat Horridge

If you want to retain links then use batch import using the original master clips. But with audio setting set to mxf.

Consolidate in batches to MXF media then you can have numbered folders. Omf files can’t be in numbered folders.

Thats correct. Avid rightly expects clips with tape names to he tapes so will expect them to be batch captured.
The correct workflow is to use Tape id or just use the source file path and source file name which are there anyway.
The mistake here was using a workflow that hadn’t been tested.
Never never use a post workflow that isn’t agreed and tested by all involved.Pat Horridge

As Michael says its all about the roller speed. Has to be slow or fast. The comfortable roll speed judders because you are missing half the updated per second as you are 25P not 50i

Create a new bin with just the seq in it. Under bin display turn on show reference clips. The bin will now fill with master clips used in the sequence. Enable the offline column heading and sort by it. You now have all the offline clips in a group. Select them and drag to a new bin.thats your bin of offline clips. Remember to turn off show ref clips in the seq bin.
