    Things change and have to.
Do Adobe have a perpetual licensing model?
Or was the only option to move to rental at a reduced rate?
    Not fair there either.
I’ve always considered purchases like MC to pay for themselves in 3 years or less. After that its just icing.

It is possible but a lot of work.
You need to find a post house to sort it.

Its really no different to the Adobe model. Your best bet is just to go with the monthly or yearly subscription just as you do with Adobe.
A lot of marketing and effort was spent over a long period to flag with users the need to put their old licenses on support when the change happened. And rental like Adobe was what many folks wanted.
From Avids point of view what have you put in their coffers in the last few years?

I’d consolidate or transcode the current timeline first.
That media will connect and work atraight off. The AMA linked media will likely need to be re AMA linked.

I’d make a fresh project on the new system with the same name. Then copy just the original projects across.

Deck config is just about control. Ignore that for now. Leave deck playing and try to get sound and pictures on via firewire. If that won’t work devk control is the least of your problems.
You need to be in a SD project of course. And you msy have issues related to the firewire drivers as well.

We also suggest not installing the optional web components in the install options.
Keep your system up to date and run Antivirus and malware detection.

That would do it. The old dongle manger isn’t able to add the subscription end date. You have to use app manager.

Never had a dongle problem unless the dongle is faulty. Had a few that didn’t connect unless wiggked. Had Avid replace them.

Keep a copy of the original AMA clips bins just in case but in answer to your question. No if you create a new bin and re AMA link those source clips all the original clips should just link.

Set up an 800×600 project. AMA link to media. Transcode selection the option to bake in frameflex. Use the new DNxHR resolution
