  • what was the original fcp version software of the project when you started. if it was version 6.0.3 i believe the error is referring to the fact that you are hitting a software compatibility issue. good luck!

i know this sounds silly but is your motion project setting the same as your final cut project? just thinking that fcp may be doing a conversion of formats/aspect ratios which would explain long renders with only motion media?

hi lisa–you sound adventurous! i think you may run into some metadata issues trying to get both avid & fcp to speak the same language. i might try to backup with an ‘edl.’ i know it’s old school but may be your best ‘workflow’ at this time. when you import the edl try to ‘conform/upres’ your sequence?

    hope it helps-

check out avid.com/downloads. they have some new codecs for making qt movies avids current ‘dna’ codec. ‘dn145’ seems to be the popular working format these days.

hi there–i would check your clips and make sure there isn’t a timecode break within the clip. maybe the metadata ahs a break and it is messing with the conversion?

  • hi there– one other thing to consider is that your version of avid software may not be optimized to run on your mac os. check your versions os (what about this mac) and your avid specs for your version software. two remedies: 1) clean instal of yourn original os and avid software, or 2) upgrade!

    good luck.peace-p@
